BURWOOD RESERVE

Public BBQ

Burwood Reserve once offered a practical barbecue setup along Warrigal Road, though the public BBQ facilities have since permanently closed. When operational, this Glen Iris location provided undercover areas that offered welcome shade for families seeking respite from Melbourne's unpredictable weather. The reserve's proximity to a cricket oval with practice nets made it a natural gathering spot where the crack of leather on willow provided a quintessentially Australian soundtrack to weekend barbies. Parking was conveniently available nearby, making it accessible for those hauling esky loads and cricket gear. While the barbecue facilities are no longer available, the reserve itself remains a green space in this established southeastern suburb, a reminder of simpler times when a good barbie spot was all you needed for a perfect afternoon.
